You would think there already is plenty of choice of beverages now especially with the introduction of the new alcopops. <br> The mixing of drinks can be traced back to even before the Greeks, who invented retsina, mixing wine with resin to preserve it and to improve its taste. The mixing of spiced wines and other ingredients was the start to the mixing of alcohols. <br> The modern versions of these concoctions are what we call cocktails. The drinking of cocktails creates an air of sophistication and fulfilment. They satisfy our craving for something different and add a little spice to our lives. <br> Cocktails are a mixture of spirits as a base and other flavours. These consist of herbs, spices, fruit juices or other spirits.
